2023-2024 FULL DAY COMMUNITY PROGRAM: In preparation for a July 25th start, all full day families will be notified the morning of July 24th, 2023 with their child's classroom assignment.  This will come to the primary email address that you noted during registration. Families are then invited to attend our Family Open House on July 24th from 6:00-7:00 pm.  Doors open at 6:00 pm.  Please enter door 1, 2, 3, or 7.

2023-2024 HALF DAY DEVELOPMENTAL PROGRAM: In preparation for a July 27th start, all half day families will be notified the morning of July 24th with their child's assignment.   The welcome email will be sent to the primary email that the family provided the school upon registration.  Families will then be invited to come to our Family Open House on July 24th from 6:00-7:00.  You can visit the classroom, meet the teacher, bring supplies, etc.   Students begin on Thursday, July 27th.  

The supply list contains items for all students, as well as a few additional items specifically for each program.  If there is an item your child may need that is specific to his/her class, the teacher will share that with parents at a separate time. 

2023-2024 Supply List 

Full-day community preschool and developmental preschool students will receive an AM and/or PM snack daily.  This is part of your fees that are paid at the start of the school year. If your child had food allergies or requires a specific diet, please contact Rebecca Leeper at (317) 544-6062. Food substitutions may be available with proper documentation.

FULL DAY FAMILIES:

*All community FULL DAY preschool students are expected to eat a mid-day meal, packed either from home or from the cafeteria.  Lunch is $2.85.

* Full day parents must send students with lunch on July 25th and 26th, as our kitchen does not open until July 27th.   Each day we will feature a hot entrée or Uncrustable served with fruits, vegetables and milk.

If your child is in developmental preschool and you are utilizing ACSC bus service, all campus bus loading and unloading will happen behind our Center.  Your child's bus driver will call you prior to the start of the school year with specific curb-to-curb bus pickup/drop-off times. You will be give two car tags in the event you ever need to pick up your child at the end of the day.

PLEASE READ INSTRUCTIONS BELOW.  BELOW THE INSTRUCTIONS IS A MAP WITH FURTHER INFORMATION. 

Half Day Parent Drop: The drive approaching White Oak is ONE WAY.  To enter our campus, you MUST approach at the three way stop just West of our campus.  If you see the large concrete blocks blocking a drive, you are in the right spot.  Please follow all signs to the White Oak Early Learning Center.

You will be provided two car tags at Parent Night (July 24th, 6-7 pm)   Ideas for placement:  put on your passenger side visor so that when you flip down the visor, we can see the child's name.  Another idea is to hang it on a pants-hanger.  Hang it on your rear view mirror upon arrival and remove when leaving the parking lot.  These are the two BEST ways for us to see the tag upon arrival.

The half day line AM line typically begins at 8:20 am.  The PM line begins at 12:45.   When approaching for drop off, get in the line and PLEASE stay off your cell phones.  Last year, we had some dangerous situations when parents were districted while parked or driving. 

When you are motioned to pull up directly to the side walk area, pull up as close to the car in front of you as possible.  Quickly  remove your child and their things from the car, and walk them to the front door awning.  We will greet them and transition them into our supervised large gross motor space.  Remain in the car line to exit campus.  DO NOT PULL OUT ahead of other cars in line, as this creates a very unsafe situation for everyone. 

Half Day Pick Up: Half day dismissal is at 3:35 pm.   When arriving, follow the procedures above and get in the car line, with your child's car tag visible on the visor or hanging from your rear-view mirror.  When parked at the curb, please exit and stand by your car, HOLDING THE TAG.  We will radio for your child and he/she will be delivered to you at the sidewalk.  You will quickly buckle him/her in and exit campus when all seven cars are loaded and exiting together.  Do not pull out ahead of others in the car line.

Lunch and Snack:  All community FULL DAY preschool students are expected to eat a mid-day meal, packed either from home or from the cafeteria.  Each day we will feature a hot entrée or Uncrustable served with fruits, vegetables and milk.  Full day parents must send students with lunch on July 25th and 26th.  Our kitchen opens on the first district student day, which is July 27th. 

Teacher Assignments: Full day teachers will contact families via the PRIMARY EMAIL used when registering on Monday, July 24th, which is their first day back to school.  When Parent Square is updated, all teacher communication will take place in this platform. 

Tuition and Fees: Please see the WOELC fees and payments page for specific information.  We encourage all families to utilize the electronic funds option for payments.  Detailed information can be found on the fees and payments page.  Are you an Avon School Corporation employee?  You have the option to have tuition automatically deducted from your paycheck.  A new form must be submitted each school year.  Please contact our school office for the form.

Before School Care Drop Off Schedule: 

*7:00-8:15..... Pull to the farthest spot along the sidewalk. Remove your child and his/her things from the car, and walk them to the awning. We will walk your child to their classroom until they learn their way. (We provided color dots on the floor that they follow to their room)  

8:15-8:25....  Front door service ends at 8:15.  If you arrive during this window, you must park in our FRONT lot, buzz in the front door, and deliver your child to the office.

After 8:25.... You must get in the car line and wait for our normal morning drop procedures.  DO NOT pass cars in line and DO NOT park in staff parking and walk your child to the front door.  You will be asked to return to your car and get in the car line.   Our best advice for a quick drop off is to arrive between 7:00 and 8:15 am.  

End of Day Procedures and Schedule:

Full day dismissal begins at approximately 3:45-3:50.  We must dismiss our half day students first, as there is no supervision for them after 3:45 pm. If you arrive prior to dismissal of our half day students, you may be asked to pull back around to get in line again. 

When approaching campus, have the car tag in place so that we see your child's name. 

3:45-4:00.... Curb side service.  Once parked, please wait (with your tag until we get to know you) at our awning for your child.  It will be important that you load your child quickly to ensure that we can continue dismissing in a timely fashion. 

4:00-4:45.... Park along the sidewalk, pulling all the way up, or park in a parking spot by the grass island. Bring your child's car tag with you into the school.  

4:45 or after.... Late pickups will be documented.  Your child is at risk of program dismissal if this occurs.
